About Julian

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Financial Economics from the University of Western Ontario and pursued further education at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition, graduating with a Certified Nutritional Practitioner Certificate with First Class Honours. I also obtained a Gut Health Practitioner Certification, Functional Medicine Consulting, and Blood Chemistry Labs. I continue my studies and research in Chronic Complex Conditions.

In my early 20s, life was thriving. I balanced playing varsity hockey at Western will continuing my studies, a passion that defined much of my life where hockey was everything. As I completed my first university year, persistent anxiety and heart palpitations emerged, which initially attributed to academic and athletic stress. After seeking medical help, I found myself puzzled by dismissive diagnoses attributing my symptoms to my age and health.

Despite ongoing symptoms—digestive issues, neurological concerns like dizziness and numbness, along with emotional challenges—medical tests yielded no definitive answers. I was frustrated yet determined, so I consulted a naturopath, where we uncovered nutritional deficiencies, adrenal fatigue, and sensitivities. While initial improvements were promising, my health declined further over time.

During that time, I decided to put a pause on my career, social activities, and personal life. Extensive research, dietary changes, and various treatments brought temporary relief but no lasting solution. It wasn't until I sought integrative medicine that I received a concrete diagnosis—Lyme disease, accompanied by a host of related issues.

Initially overwhelmed by this discovery, I started my journey of healing through nutrition, supplements, lifestyle adjustments, and alternative therapies. These experiences shaped my perspective and led me to my true calling.

Through holistic nutrition and functional medicine, I discovered my purpose—to guide others in understanding and addressing the root causes of their health challenges. Despite the hardships endured, I'm grateful for the lessons learned and now dedicate myself to empowering individuals on their paths to wellness.

What is a Functional Nutritionist?

In practice, we integrate the principles of functional medicine to address the underlying root causes of health concerns, rather than just treating symptoms. With a particular focus on tick-borne illnesses such as Lyme disease and co-infections, we employ a comprehensive approach that includes targeted nutritional protocols, supplementation, and lifestyle modifications to support the body’s natural healing process.
